Meet Rachel

Rachel brings 21 years of experience in the pet industry and 15 years of professional grooming experience to The Dog House Pet Salon, where she has been part of the team for the past six months. She began her grooming career through hands-on training and spent six years working in corporate grooming salons, including PetSmart and Petco, where she completed professional grooming academy training and continued building her technical skills.

Her love of dogs initially drew her to grooming, along with the opportunity to help them look and feel their best. With years of experience behind the grooming table, Rachel is confident working with a wide variety of coat types and styles, with particular strengths in breed-specific trims, poodles, doodles, schnauzers, and small companion breeds such as Maltese and Shih Tzus. She enjoys everything from traditional breed patterns to cute, round pet trims and especially loves seeing a great before-and-after transformation come together.

Clients can expect Rachel to provide a consistent, detailed, and polished groom backed by years of hands-on experience. She is calm and patient with the dogs in her care while being straightforward and knowledgeable with their owners. Rachel believes client education is an important part of grooming and is always willing to explain coat condition, maintenance needs, grooming schedules, and what she feels will be best for the individual dog.

Rachel especially enjoys working with smaller dogs and clients looking for an experienced groomer who appreciates both traditional grooming techniques and beautifully finished pet styles. She also continues to expand her skills and is currently interested in gaining additional experience with advanced hand-stripping techniques and terrier breeds such as Scottish Terriers and Airedales.

Outside of the salon, Rachel has plenty of animals of her own, including five Pit Bulls, chickens, and geese. After more than two decades in the pet industry, animals remain a major part of both her professional and personal life.
