Meet Cierra

Cierra has been working in the pet industry for seven years and has been grooming professionally for one year. Before joining The Dog House Pet Salon, she worked in a veterinary clinic and grooming environment, gaining experience as both a grooming assistant and bather as well as assisting with veterinary care. This background gave her valuable experience handling dogs with a variety of needs, temperaments, and personalities.

Cierra’s love for animals originally led her toward veterinary care, but she quickly realized she wanted to help animals in a different way. Grooming gave her the opportunity to work with pets in a more positive setting, where she could help them look better, feel better, and leave happier and more comfortable than when they arrived.

She learned to groom through hands-on training with Serena at The Dog House, along with independent video education, and continues to develop her skills through online grooming courses and continuing education.

Cierra is known around the salon for her sweet, friendly personality and consistently positive attitude. She is patient and gentle with the dogs in her care and especially enjoys working with puppies, taking the time to help make their early grooming experiences as comfortable and positive as possible.

When it comes to grooming, Cierra loves the big, hairy dogs—the hairier, the better! She especially enjoys large-breed deshedding treatments and the satisfying transformations that come with a thorough blowout. She also enjoys hand-scissoring, detail work, and adding finishing touches like little bows.

Outside of the salon, Cierra has plenty of animals of her own. She shares her home with three cats, goldfish, and her dog Scarlet, a Husky–Staffordshire Terrier mix.
